Wilkins’ Opticians has been delivering outstanding eye care services to our patients in the Spartanburg and surrounding areas for almost 45 years. Our practice began as Wayne Wilkins’ vision of a local, small business serving the community with friendly service, quality materials, and a short turn-around time in stylish eyeglasses at reasonable prices. We began business in a building in Poppy Square around the corner from our current location.
When you walk through our doors, you will be greeted by compassionate and experienced personnel who are dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized eye care for your whole family in a friendly and professional environment.
In our optical boutique, we carry a large selection of quality designer eyewear choices – including brands such as Ralph Lauren, Ray-Ban, Oakley and Silhouette – all at affordable prices. We also carry a wide selection of sunglasses and sports eyewear in order to fulfill the individual needs of each of our patients. We know that finding the perfect style and fit can help you put your best face forward, which is why our opticians will help you select the frames that best suit you based on your lifestyle, occupation and personal style.
We also offer a variety of specialty contact lenses that can give you clear, comfortable vision. In addition, our optometrist conducts comprehensive and thorough eye exams that are aimed to address your individual needs and concerns. These exams allow us to accurately detect eye disease or other abnormalities early, often before they present any symptoms.

Dr. Donald Kamer
Dr. Donald Kamer is a 2002 Magna Cum Laude graduate of The Ohio State College of Optometry. Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Dr. Kamer graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Akron in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology prior to his optometric education.
After becoming an NBEO certified primary eye care optometrist licensed to diagnose, treat and manage ocular disease, he practiced for nearly 14 years at his private optometric practice in Worthington, Ohio. His practice was focused on family eye care, glasses, contact lenses, and the treatment of ocular disease.
In 2015 his private practice was acquired by a large local group optometric practice. Shortly after the acquisition, Dr. Kamer and his wife Melissa decided to relocate to Brevard, NC, an area that they have always enjoyed. He is an avid mountain biker and enjoys fishing and hiking in Western North Carolina and the Upstate.
